TIME TO WORK ON CURB APPEAL

Potential buyers begin the buying process early with the first look at your property.  For us Alaskans that means this time of year we must get out and clean up winter trash and pet waste found in the melting snow. Take time to sweep the driveway clear of sand and rocks. Wash down the exterior of your home if  needed. Don't overlook washing the windows to remove winter's grime.  Be sure you have a clutter free porch and entry way. Does the front door need a fresh coat of paint? Buyers are attracted to clean well presented homes. This will shorten the selling time and put more money in a seller's pocket.

2.25% INTEREST RATE ON THE KENAI

No 2.25% interest rate is not the rate you get on a mortgage. That is the logical focus for the average person when they hear talk about interest rates. The 2.25% interest rate is the Federal Fund Rate, that is what banks charge each other for overnight loans.

I'm taking a wait and see attitude to see where mortgage interest rates will go in the next few days. What I can tell you it is a great time to buy a home on the Kenai Peninsula. Interest rates are good, there is some great inventory, but buyers can also tell you inventory has been moving quickly in the last couple of weeks with some properties seeing multi offers. No sellers, this is not the time to believe you can push prices above the market, if you do your property will be the one without offers.
